📅 Understanding A-Day and B-Day Classes
Our youth and junior programs use an A-Day/B-Day rotation system designed to provide comprehensive Muay Thai training. Each A-Day class covers the same curriculum, and each B-Day class covers the same curriculum—but A-Day and B-Day teach different material.
For optimal progress, students should attend at least one A-Day and one B-Day class each week. This ensures they receive complete instruction across all fundamental techniques and skills. Attending multiple A-Days or multiple B-Days is great for building repetition and muscle memory, but mixing both types each week gives you the full training experience.
Example: If you train Monday (A-Day) and Wednesday (B-Day), you'll learn two different sets of techniques. Training Monday and Tuesday (both A-Days) gives you excellent repetition of the same material.
🥊 Class Types Explained
Padwork: Partner up with another student and take turns holding Thai pads for each other. These classes emphasize power, cardio, and overall fitness while developing striking combinations and technique.
Partner Drills: Cooperative training exercises with a partner to develop timing, distance, and defensive skills. The focus is on proper technique and precision rather than power.
Clinch: Specialized training in the Thai clinch—Muay Thai's signature standing grappling position. Learn to control opponents in close range, deliver powerful knee strikes, execute sweeps and throws, and defend against clinch attacks. This unique aspect of Muay Thai separates it from other striking arts.
Sparring: Live, controlled practice fighting where students apply techniques learned in class against a resisting opponent. Conducted in a safe, supervised environment with appropriate protective gear and intensity levels matched to experience. Sparring develops timing, reflexes, ring awareness, and the ability to perform under pressure.
